Sisters and Partners at Across South America.

For us, travel is a way of life. We were born into a travel-obsessed family and had already lived in three different countries in South America by the time we started school, so wanderlust was inevitable for us. We are incredibly fortunate to have parents that insisted that travel was the best classroom and, thankfully, our school holidays were spent exploring fascinating places, both near and far.

We founded 15 years ago Across South America a female-founded and women-run Boutique Travel Agency to help travelers fall in love with South America just like we do.

These ladies made me look like a rock star!

I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Across South America. I was tasked with putting together a Gourmet & Outdoor trip for six gentlemen to South America. I didn't even know where to start, and only had a couple of months to book. I scoured the internet for a local agent in Argentina and came upon Across South America. These ladies made me look like a rock star!

They raved about the spectacular private dinner in Bariloche, where the group was involved in the preparation, learning from Chef Herrera about local dishes.

I would highly recommend booking with Across South America. A great group to work with.

aBOUT THE WINE COUNTRY IN SOUTH AMERICA

1

What South American country is known for wine?

Of South American countries, Chile and Argentina remain the most popular on the world market (though Bolivia, Uruguay and Peru do produce some fine wines as well)

2

Which Argentina wine country is best

Mendoza is Argentina's largest wine region.  Recognized as the International Wine Capital, Mendoza is the heart of the wine region in Argentina, loved by oenophiles who come here to taste its wines, especially Malbec. One of the main attractions of the region is visiting and tasting more than a thousand vineyards in the area.

3

What wine is Argentina known for?

We can summarize Argentina's wine destinations for its reds,  mountains reds....Malbec, in particular, this kind of bold, vibrantly fruity and approachable wine which has made Argentina so famous in the world.... “And it is perfect for a nice, juicy steak.

4

Why is Chile famous for wines?

Chile is incredibly thin, and all the wine regions cover quite a long distance from north to south. But the diversity comes from west to east. Which is between the mountains and the freezing pacific sea. What is incredible in Chile is the diversity you get in such a small strip of land.  If you go 50 km from west to east, you can have a great variety in a tiny area.

5

What is the best wine Region in Chile

The main valleys are the Aconcagua Valley, the Casablanca Valley and the San Antonio Valley.

Chile's cool climate allows the excellent development of varieties such as Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. If you are a wine lover, make sure you try the wines of this region!
