01

Welcome to Argentina! A private vehicle will transfer you from the airport to your accommodation. Your tour begins with a ‘Welcome meeting’ with your Experience Manager and concierge for this journey. The rest of the day is free to enjoy neighboring sights and adapt to your new destination.

 

You'll discover why this large South American city is the most exciting capital in the region; among other things, Buenos Aires will amaze you with the following: 

 

  • bookstores everywhere 

  • the metro system, the oldest in Latin America. ...

  • the widest street in the world: Avenida 9 de Julio. ...

Discover Buenos Aires’ rich culture & Tango Experience

Today you will enjoy the very first city exploration of the Historic Districts; You will understand Buenos Aires's history through its iconic buildings in Mayo Square and then head to the San Telmo district to explore the city’s architecture in this beautiful neighborhood. You'll learn about the history of this famous neighborhood and its culinary artisans, including some of Buenos Aires' best street eateries.  

 

Bonus: taste the best local empanadas, choripan, and medialunas. 

Bonus 2: An evening full of Tango enjoying top-class dancers and a fine dining experience paired with excellent Malbec Red wines will complement this tasty day perfectly.

Your first taste of Patagonia – and mate

03

The next stop on this 14-day South American culinary adventure is in San Carlos de Bariloche, in Patagonia. Private transfers to and from the airport and domestic flights are included.

 

You’ll spend the day exploring the gorgeous setting of Bariloche, taking in panoramic views from Punto Panoramico and Cerro Campanario viewpoints. Enjoy a peaceful hike through the woods' soft trails, featuring your first taste of the traditional South American drink – mate – with cookies and chocolates by the lake.

 

Did you know? Bariloche is considered the chocolate capital of Argentina, offering almost fifteen chocolate factories to delight all chocolate lovers. 

 

Meals: Breakfast. Afternoon tea with Mate & cookies and chocolates.

Watch condors and enjoy a nomadic gourmet experience

Discover the vastness of the steppe with your guide Lorenzo Sympson – the third generation in a British family of birdwatchers born and raised at an Argentine Estancia. It’s an outdoor experience with a scenic hike where you can observe Condors and listen to and learn about these amazing birds, followed by a one-of-a-kind lunch at a nomad restaurant with wines.

Crossing the Andes

05

 

Today, you’ll enjoy the most scenic way to travel from Argentina to Chile, crossing the Andes Mountains. The journey features impressive views of the lakes, volcanoes, and majestic Andes mountain ranges. Our journey ends at the lovely Puerto Varas city in Chile, where we will stay overnight.

 

Here are three reasons why this experience is unique:

 

  • This is the only crossing through The Andes that allows you to sail across three lakes: “Todos los Santos,” “Frías,” and “Nahuel Huapi.”

  • You can explore some of Chile and Argentina's most unspoiled national parks.

  • You’ll discover Puerto Varas in Chile and Bariloche in Argentina, two of the most beautiful cities located in Patagonia.

Puerto Varas – Puerto Montt – Santiago de Chile

We leave after breakfast, exploring Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt with our local guide before your private transfer takes you to the airport for your flight to Santiago, Chile’s cosmopolitan and energetic capital. 

 

You’ll see the lovely Puerto Montt City, the gateway to Chilean Lake District, initially settled by German pioneers; the influence is strong, and you can witness it in their buildings.

 

Bonus: See the magnificent view of Lake Llanquihue, the majestic Osorno Volcano, and the charming German-style village on the lake's east side.

 

Upon arrival in Santiago de Chile, another private vehicle will take you to your accommodation.

Capital highlights & culinary delights in Santiago

07

You’ll kick off the day with a visit to our favorite markets in Santiago to pick up the ingredients needed for today’s special culinary experience.  La Vega Market is known for its vegetables, meat, and fruits; you’ll see the Historic Central Market, famous for the fresh fish, and the Quincalleria Bio Bio market, offering all you need, especially amazing fruits. 

 

At our picked local Restaurant, savor pisco sour while the Chef leads the cooking lesson that will introduce you to quintessential Chilean dishes. 

 

Good to know: Depending on the day of the week you visit Santiago de Chile, you’ll see other cool little markets unique to Santiago.  

 

Bonus 1: After your amazing lunch, visit Santiago’s main attractions. 

 

Bonus 2: Savour the delights of a day, well spent over your gourmet dinner at one of Santiago’s best restaurants (we will offer our restaurant suggestions and book a table for you upon request).

Exclusive Wine & Food Experience Vik Vineyards  

DAY
08

You’ll explore the Wine Route of Chile by visiting the exclusive Viña VIK.  Get to know its vineyard and winery, learn about its different production processes, and enjoy lunch at the Pavillion restaurant with its exquisite wines.

 

With your expert wine Guide, you will head to the Cachapoal Valley, known for its great wine and agricultural activity.  As you approach the pre-cordilleran area of Viña VIK, inside the Millahue Valley, among innumerable ravines, you will learn why this valley gives VIK an incomparable terroir and small microclimates, providing the complexity always winemakers seek. 

 

It’s all about the wine! You’ll visit the vineyards and minimalist wineries while learning about winemaking. 

 

Bonus: a fantastic lunch is waiting for you at Pavillion VIK Restaurant. Art, surroundings, architecture, the extraordinary 360 view, and the organic garden’s ingredients will offer you an unforgettable culinary experience. 

 

In the afternoon, you will have free time to purchase some of the iconic wines at the winery (Milla Cala, La Piu Belle, and VIK), take photos of the architecture of the place, or rest in the VIK Private Living Room, return later to the hotel in Santiago de Chile.

Arrive in Mendoza and enjoy an introduction to the Argentinean wines

09

 

After breakfast, take a flight to Mendoza. Depart by your private vehicle for the airport to fly to your next destination – Mendoza, synonymous with wine. Your day includes an introduction to different wine regions by a renowned sommelier, wine tasting, and dinner. The little region produces 2/3 of Argentinean wines and is the perfect place to enjoy the country’s best drops.

 

Fun facts about Mendoza wines you should know:

 

  • Over 70% of Argentina’s wines are grown in Mendoza, making it the world's sixth-largest producer of wine.

  • Mendoza produces an incredible variety of wine varietals as well. The most popular and well-known include Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Bonarda, and Syrah for red wines; Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Torrontes for white wines.

  • Mendoza is the biggest Malbec producer in the world!

We journey into one of Mendoza’s key wine-producing areas – Uco Valley, visiting the Clos de los 7 Winery. The experience is surreal as you enjoy the best of this region and its landscapes. A private lunch at The Bonnie Family Mansion is another day's highlight.

 

A highlight of the day: exploring Uco Valley, one of Argentina's most picturesque wine regions. The scenery is extraordinary, and you’ll love the views of the Mountain Andes west and north, the steep mountains, and the deep valleys. 

 

Did you know?  Thanks to the high altitude and continental climate of Uco Valley, the varieties of grapes are known for their elegant and fresh wines, which are prestigious worldwide.

Relax by the Andes

11

It’s a day of pure relaxation! Unwind with a glass (or bottle) of wine, experiencing the vineyard lifestyle, including visiting a vineyard, picnicking with an unforgettable view, and enjoying a traditional Argentine-style barbecue. Wining and dining done, you can head to the spa for an incredible massage. 

 

Bonus! Adventure seekers (who love to drink wine), this one is for you! Trek the Andes Mountains, horseback ride through the vineyard, and learn how some of Mendoza's best wines are made.

Savour the flavours of Mendoza

After a private transfer and a domestic flight, you arrive at your next accommodation in a traditional “Estancia” or ranch in the Pampas, about one hour and a half from Buenos Aires. Here we will learn up close the “Gaucho” lifestyle and its traditions.

13

Estancia La Bamba and the Village of "Areco" are the ideal places to get acquainted with Gaucho’s traditions and enjoy the countryside.

 

Together with your local guide, you'll walk around the historical center and you'll understand how Creole artists’ ateliers create the local crafts.

 

The afternoon is spent relaxing and enjoying activities at the Estancia.

 

Highlight: Stay in the heart of the “Pampa,” just 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Buenos Aires. The 19th-century estancia emanates charm and character with its colonial-style buildings converted into a luxury hotel infused with the gaucho spirit.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. For the rest of the day, enjoy free time for activities at the Estancia until your departure, when we will transfer you to the airport. Late check-out is possible, although it may involve an additional cost.
