Ushuaia,  southernmost city in the World

DAY
01

Our local representative will welcome you, and you will have a private transfer from the airport to your hotel in Ushuaia. The remainder of the day in Ushuaia is free to soak in the beautiful views and enjoy gourmet delights at your hotel, which overlooks the Beagle Chanel.

The highlight of the day: disconnect from the crowds and reconnect in Ushuaia, the perfect place to be with the natural world, to feed the soul with new experiences, cultural immersion, and some much-needed slowdown.

Did you know?

Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world, located only a few hundred miles from Antarctica, at the crossroads between Argentina and Chile, and the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans. It is the starting point for voyages to Antarctica via the Drake Passage.

DAY
02

Exploring the “End of the World”  & Penguin Colony

Today enjoy a full-day exploration of Tierra del Fuego, including a glacial valley, and spectacular views of the Beagle Channel, following the course of the longest river in Tierra del Fuego. You’ll watch penguins in their natural habitat and will enjoy an authentic farm experience learning about this land’s history.

After a technical and safety briefing given along with the equipment (rubber boots, splash pants, life jackets, and a paddle), you are now ready to go downstream to reach the Beagle Channel!

Highlights you’ll experience today:

  • You’ll enjoy a relaxed and exciting adventure with our experienced and friendly guides.

  • You’ll visit an authentic “estancia” at Harberton Ranch; once here, a motor boat will take you to Gable and Martillo islands, where nature is intact.

  • Walk on Gable Island surrounded by the history of this "uttermost part of the Earth."

  • You’ll learn all the stories of this remote land's first inhabitants and the first Europeans' adventures.

Bonus! You will see the Magellan and Gentoo penguins that arrive in Summer to nest at Martillo Island.

Talk to our team to tailor today’s experience according to your wishes!

Meals: Breakfast and lunch. Accommodation: Arakur Hotel

Tierra del Fuego National Park & embark Australis Expedition Cruise

DAY
03

Enjoy a perfect morning exploring Tierra del Fuego National Park unconventionally and having a gourmet lunch in a quiet,  panoramic place.

Your friendly and local expert guide will adapt the day to your own pace, so you can relax and enjoy the fantastic scenery of this little corner of the world while avoiding the crowds as much as possible.

Today’s highlights:

  • Enjoy a half-day trip full of information that covers all the panoramic and exciting points.

  • Visit the end of all roads in America, in unforgettable places like Ensenada Bay and Lapataia Bay.

  • Later, you will embark on the adventure of your lifetime, the exclusive Australis Expedition Cruise.

Bonus: We take care of all logistics.

As part of our curated service, we will take care of today’s logistics so you can have fun. Your local guide will arrange cruise check-in and luggage delivery and, at the scheduled time, will drop you off at the Port just in time to start the Australis Expedition adventure.

Once onboard, you’ll enjoy a warm welcome from the ship’s captain. The vessel departs one of the most remote corners of the planet and will cross the Beagle Channel, entering the Chilean territorial waters. The lights of Ushuaia disappear as the ship turns into the narrow Murray Channel between Navarino and Hoste islands.

Cruise Chilean fjords between Cape Horn & Wulaia Bay

DAY
04

Around the break of dawn, the Australis cruise across Nassau Bay and enter the remote archipelago that comprises Cape Horn National Park. Weather and sea conditions permitting, you shall go ashore on the windswept island that harbors legendary Cape Horn (Cabo de Hornos).

Today’s highlight:

  • Explore the “End of the Earth” in the mythical Cape Horn, discovered in 1616 by a Dutch maritime expedition and the only navigation route between the Pacific and Atlantic for many years.

  • You’ll visit the Chilean Navy’s lighthouse on Cape Horn island and the modern Cape Horn Monument.

  • You’ll do a relaxed hike at Wulaia Bay, one of the region’s largest Yámana aboriginal settlements, described by Charles Darwin and sketched by Captain FitzRoy in the 1830s during their voyages on HMS Beagle.

  • View the fantastic views, dramatic geography, and the Magellanic forest full of lengas, coigües, canelos, and ferns.

Agostini Sound - Águila Glacier

DAY
06

This morning’s highlight: you will disembark and leisurely walk around a lagoon formed by melting the Águila Glacier.  You will reach a spot right before that glacier with stunning views.

Bonus: In the afternoon, while approaching the Condor Glacier via Zodiac -- expect to see some of the abundant Andean Condors in the area.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner with wines. Accommodation: Australis Cruise - External Cabin with views.

Magdalena Island – Punta Arenas – Chile

DAY
07

After an overnight cruise through Magdalena Channel and back into the Strait of Magellan, the vessel will anchor off Magdalena Island, about halfway between Tierra del Fuego and the Chilean mainland.

Crowned by a distinctive lighthouse, the island used to be an essential source of supplies for navigators and explorers; it is also home to an immense colony of Magellanic penguins.

The highlight of the day: Weather permitting, you’ll go ashore and hike a path that leads through thousands of penguins to a small museum lodged inside the vintage 1902 lighthouse. In September and April -- when the penguins dwell elsewhere -- this excursion is replaced by a ride aboard Zodiacs to Marta Island to observe South American sea lions.

After a short cruise south along the strait, you will disembark at Punta Arenas around 11:30 AM. Our local representative will be waiting for you at the Port and will take you on an approximate  3 hour ½ drive to your accommodation in Torres del Paine, Chile.

Meals: Breakfast, boxed lunch, and dinner. Accommodation: Patagonia Camp, Torres del Paine National Park, all-inclusive.

Bonus! Accommodation in a Yurt in Patagonia, fully equipped with central heating, ensuite bathroom, and private balcony. A luxury surrounded by nature with all details taken care of.
