The Story of One of the Best Chefs in Latin America

As you can imagine, being one of the best chefs in Latin America comes with a great story. And Carolina Bazan’s began many years ago, when she was a young kid and, instead of playing with other children her age, she preferred spending her time in the kitchen, helping her mother.

Her love for cooking became more and more real and, at the age of 23, she was leading a restaurant, after studying gastronomy. The idea of Ambrosia began as a lunch spot, where the young cook was working which her mother. But she knew she wanted to do more and maybe to become one of the best chefs of Latin America. So, she worked in France, with the famous chef Grégory Marchand and, in 2013, she returned to Chile, where she created the amazing restaurant, Ambrosia. The dishes at her restaurant are inspired by Carolina’s travels and culinary research, and they focus on fresh produce combined with international flavors.

If you travel to Santiago and want to indulge in seasonal dishes made with amazing seasonal ingredients, add Ambrosia to the must-visit restaurants’ list.

Balancing Life and Work and Being a Role Model

Woman. Chef. Mother of two

Being one of the best chefs of Latin America isn’t easy, especially since Carolina Bazan has to juggle her commitments between her two successful restaurants and her two amazing children, three-month-old Mia and four-year-old Iñaki.

But the incredible female chef created a balance between her work and life, giving women from all over the world a positive example. Her story shows that, with hard work and dedication, you can accomplish everything you dream of, without having to give up family, friends and love.
