Summer in Peru – From December to march
January to April is considered a wet season in Peru with temperatures dropping and rainfall increasing consistently throughout Peru’s interior and jungle regions. It is when tourism slows down for the year.

If you visit this stunning country from November until March, you will have the chance to experience summer in coastal Peru. Lima is hot and welcoming, and the sun and high temperature on the coast make this time perfect for swimming and water sports.

If the Inca Trail is on your bucket list, try to avoid this period because the trail is usually closed from the end of January until the end of February.
In the Amazon, it is the “high water” season, so rivers can rise up in parts of the Amazon Basin, making all of the rivers and creeks accessible and navigable, though flooding some of the jungle trails.

Winter in Peru – from June to August
This is the best time to explore the highlands and enjoy unforgettable trekking experiences, as well as to visit Peru’s Amazon basin and indulge in admiring the wildlife.
From May to September Lima is covered in a dense fog and has lower temperatures, during this time the highlands are drier and clearer. As you travel along the coast from beautiful Lima, you will easily see the sun gradually breaking through the mist.

Spring in Peru – September to November
