The tour starts around 8:00 am ready to take the first pictures. The first stop is the Mylodon Cave, a remarkable cavern 200 meters long, 30 meters high, and 80 meters wide, located 25 km from Puerto Natales. A half-hour walk takes us into the cave, which was made famous by the discovery of seemingly fresh skin and bones of a prehistoric gigant sloth known as a mylodon. In the same cave the remains of other extinct animals were found, including the dawn horse (Eohippus), a prehistoric cave bear, the Patagonian panther, and the saber-toothed tiger.

We will make a stop in Cerro Castillo at a café and then continue to Torres del Paine, as we pass several estancias (ranches) and go from a steppe eco-region towards deciduous forest. Along the way we may be able to see some of the local fauna, including many species of birds. We may also see guanacos, wich are wild camelid related to the llama.

Torres del Paine is world-famous for its granite towers, which give the park its name. These gigantic spires were carved by glacial ice. After entering the park we will come upon a series of lakes with intense colors, mountains covered in ice, and an rray of local fauna. After lunch we continue to Lago Grey, where we will hike to a beach to observe the glacier of the same name. The return of Puerto Natales may be via same route, or on the alternate road that takes us past the pinturesque lakes called Toro, Porteño, and Sofía.
