Torres del Paine - El Calafate, Argentina
DAY
04
We depart after breakfast, transferring first to the Chilean border, from where another vehicle takes us towards Argentine Patagonia, driving all the way to the Estancia in El Calafate where we will spend the next few days.
The four and a half hour drive along the scenic and beautiful Patagonian steppe landscape is a highlight in itself. A picnic stop is a great way to enjoy the beauty of this spot.
Upon arrival at our ranch accommodation, we will have time to relax, enjoy the landscapes and even head out for one of the short treks in the area. The ranch is located behind the Perito Moreno Glacier, a privileged area where if you listen carefully, you may be able to hear the sounds of ice breaking from the glacier.
Sheep shearing demonstration, barbecue lunch and Perito Moreno Glacier by Boat
DAY
05
Attend to sheep shearing and equestrian demonstrations. Enjoy a typical Patagonian lunch with delicious lamb and others Argentinean cut meats accompanied by fine Argentine wines. Then we cruise to Playa de las Monedas, where you’ll be able to enjoy a peaceful walk along the forest and get to a lookout spot to appreciate the south side of the Moreno Glacier. Before leaving the boat, join the crew and savour a whiskey with glacier ice. At the end of the trip, visit the glacier’s walkways and return to El Calafate.

Patagonia hiking and horse riding on a ranch

After breakfast, we will privately transfer you to the airport in El Calafate for your flight to Ushuaia. Another private transfer takes you to the Arakur hotel, located in a prime spot within the Cerro Alarkén Natural Reserve, a few minutes from downtown.
This beautiful hotel was designed based on the rules of sustainable architecture, along a spectacular balcony surrounded by breathtaking panoramic views, native forests, natural terraces and green areas harmonically integrated into the surroundings. Rest of the day remains free to relax at the spa in the hotel.

Explore the “End of the World” in 4X4WD
DAY

Today’s highlight is a unique adventure, journeying across the Andes in a 4×4 vehicle and enjoying the thrill of some amazing crossings. We will visit the beautiful Fagnano and Escondido Lakes, getting amidst the pristine lakes and muddy lands – a close encounter possible only in 4X4WD vehicles.
Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego National Park – ANTARCTICA Expedition towards the remotest corners of the planet
DAY
09
We arrive early in Ensenada Bay in the Tierra del Fuego National Park. After a short walk along the beach and woods, we continue our journey towards Lapataia – the point where all routes of America come to their end.
Your local guide will assist with your Antarctica cruise check-in and luggage delivery. Staying close to the port, head out on your own to visit the two local museums. The Presidium holds interesting stories about Ushuaia while the Fin del Mundo preserves the historical roots of Tierra del Fuego. Remember to check back in time for the cruise (by 5.30pm).
In the afternoon, we depart for Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, the southernmost city in the world located at the Beagle Channel and sail through this scenic waterway for the rest of the evening.
As part of this amazing Antarctica trip, you will be able to choose from different outdoor adventure activities such as kayaking, camping, hiking, mountaineering and a photo workshop (need to be booked before the trips begins).

Antarctica by sea
DAY
10-11
On these days we sail across the Drake Passage. While crossing the Antarctic Convergence, we arrive in the circum-Antarctic up welling zone. In this area we may see Wandering Albatrosses, Grey Headed Albatrosses, Black- browed Albatrosses, Light- mantled Albatrosses, Cape Petrels, Southern Fulmars, Wilson’s Storm Petrels, Blue Petrels and Antarctic Petrels. Near the South Shetland Islands, we spot our first icebergs.
Antarctica “at its Glory”
DAYs
12-18
We will sail directly to “High Antarctica”, anchoring in the protected waters around Wiencke Island for two nights – our playground for a number of activities lined up as part of this cruise. You can scout the region by foot, arriving on shore by zodiac or kayak. Snowshoes are available and mountaineers will enjoy the challenge. All climbs and excursions can only be conducted in good weather conditions.
We will visit the old British research station, now working museum and post office at Port Lockroy on Goudier Island. Close to Port Lockroy we may also offer a landing on Jougla Point with Gentoo Penguins and Blue-eyed Shags. We look out for leopard seals, Crabeater seals and whales. Conditions permitting we sail through the spectacular Lemaire Channel to Booth Island, Pléneau and Petermann Island where we can find Adélie Penguins and Blue-eyed Shags. Here you may also encounter Humpback and Minke Whales. We choose another camp site which is suitable and close to next day’s activity. The opportunities for kayaking, glacier walks or more ambitious mountaineering are excellent in this area.
At Neko Harbour we will have the opportunity to set foot on the Antarctic continent in a magnificent landscape of a huge glacier and enjoy the landscape during zodiac cruises, walks and kayak excursions. A small group of glacier walkers may climb up on higher grounds of the glacier. We will spend the night in Paradise Bay with a camp erected ashore, departing early the next day.
