Argentina – Salta, Purmamarca, Humahuaca Gorge, and Cafayate

Gorgeous little town of Purmamarca, sits at the foot of the multi-hued Cerro de Los Siete Colores (Hill of Seven Colors). Quebrada de Humahuaca, a Unesco World Heritage site , is a narrow mountain valley famous for its rock formations, multi-colored hills, and traditional Quechuan towns.

The first four days of this special itinerary will be spent exploring Salta, Purmamarca, Humahuaca Gorge and Cafayate in Argentina. Once you landed in charming Salta, you can expect a comfortable transfer to your hotel, followed by a free afternoon to explore the surroundings. 

After a relaxing night, continue the adventure with visiting the mesmerizing Humahuaca gorge, declared Heritage of Humanity, before returning to lively Salta and getting ready for a new exciting day traveling though different landscapes and touring the Cafayate wine area, where the delicious, world-famous Torrontes wine is made. Your second day begins with a trip to San Antonio de Los Cobres, followed by a visit to the Salinas Grandes, a stop at the Cuesta de Lipan to see the condors, and a relaxing evening spent in the town of Purmamarca.

Chile – San Pedro de Atacama, High Plateau Lakes, Geysers Del Tatio and the Moon Valley

The fifth day of this unforgettable South America salt flats itinerary brings a trip to the Chilean San Pedro de Atacama. The day that follows is filled with spectacular moments spent at the Atacama salt flat, the greatest saline deposit of Chile.

Also, you have the chances to visit Toconao, a lovely town located at 2,475 meters of altitude, and get closer to the interesting atacamenan culture while admiring the natural beauty of this area. Among other amazing things, expect to meet friendly people and see small lagoons habituated by charming Flamingoes, Taguas and Guallatas. 

Day seven brings adventurers the chance to see the imposing Geysers del Tatio, a geothermal field located in the Andes mountain range and admire a memorable sunset in the Moon Valley a beautiful area of stone and sand.

Bolivia: Ojo de Perdiz, Uyuni Salt Flat, La Paz, and Titicaca Lake

The eighth day of this unforgettable South America salt flats itinerary starts with a transfer from Chile to Bolivia’s  Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve. Also visit The Green Lagoon, admiring its strange color from the high magnesium content in the water. Catch a glimpse of the Licancahur Volcano, see the Sol de Manana with its intriguing volcanic holes and geysers, admire the Red Lagoon, befriend the three species of flamencos that populate it, and enjoy a tasty lunch before crossing the Siloli desert to get to your hotel in Ojo de Perdiz.
